RE: Hello!
I hope she wasn't scared off by Succubus being an ass.

Welcome, if you're still around, SisterAgatha.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Sisters doing it to for themselves?

Sorry, Sister. Smile
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

It's really not a big deal. You know how it's impossible for you to believe someone can live without "God"?

That's how I feel about "God".

Anyway, welcome aboard. Take a pew.

Oooh... A sister! An actual sister!
I never had a sister, before.
Welcome aboard, from Brexit land!

I wish you stick around, in spite of that silly succubus. I'm sure he's been properly scolded by the mods.

When you say "good is love", I have to ask: why redefine love, a human emotion somewhat rooted in a neural-hormonal cocktail, as an anthropomorphic super entity?

Someone had to say it. We’re all thinking it. Don’t front.

Welcome.

Welcome SisA! Big Grin

If you really wanna understand atheism, then just think like this, you too spend your life without believing in buddha, krishna, allah, Ra, e.t.c, atheists similarly do not believe in any of those myths including Christianity.

But if you are here to try and understand the atheists themselves... well, we have a huge variety here, from rocket scientists to authors to cats and turtles, and I think there are a few ancient demons here too, so good luck getting to know them all Tongue

RE: Hello!
Imagine if someone said this to you:

Quote:Now now. I know Im just a little bit biased being a nun and all, but I almost find it impossible to believe that anyone coudl really live "without Aphrodite".

Aphrodite is love. Aphrodite is smiling at a child's fingerpainting, playing a guitar and singing a lovely song, and quite frankly just being there with for someone when they've had a crummy day, and them being there for you. In my mind Aphrodite is love itself, and for me living without Aphrodite would be pretty lonesome!  [Image: embarrassed.gif]

I suppose some of the bible stories sound a little wild, but I could never imagine living without Zeus. Honestly when I've had a bad day at school and am ready to just call it quits, I say a little prayer to Zeus..and I can't explain it..He always gives me the strength I need to get through the day.
