Can someone simply give me the abridged version of exactly why Eilonnwy has gone and what her problem(s) were?

I wish I could but I honestly don't have a clue. She didn't give a specific reason in the staff forum and you've read the "I'm out" topic.

I don't know/understand it either...
But I think it started about a discussion with Tavarish here: http://atheistforums.org/thread-5129.html She kinda explained her reasons here: http://atheistforums.org/thread-5148.html ![]()
My guess (and it is just a guess) it's been brewing a lot longer than that discussion with Tav, though it might have been the proverbial straw.

Is it possible that she simply didn't have enough control over the attitudes and opinions of the other members and that her attempts to put her own ideologies over were not being recognised in the way that she would like?
Perhaps a case of stubborn pride maybe, after all, she always was a very forthright and dominant character and unfortunately was one of the main reasons that I got disillusioned with the forum. I should have just hung on for a while, how ironic :S ![]()
I think this sums things nicely:

It may well be, with a spice of depression. I'm sure Freud would explain it, that crazy mothafucka. But you know atheists... its easier to herd cats. In time she will realize that she might acted wrong, but with the tiny bit I know from her, pride will most likely give her pause.
The misogyny issue has been going on for months, to the extent people are digging at Eillonwy over it all the time. It reached it's head in the objectifying women thread where 100% of the females said the males were wrong, but the majority of males vilified the females as wrong as the females couldn't make them understand. They're not females so they wouldn't... yet they still chose to marginalize the women over it. Go figure.
Ely had resigned before Tav posted that thread - where he references the objectification thread like some proof that Ely was wrong - how laughable. The mass falling out over the way rule changes were handled also had a big effect, with both Eillonwy and Adrian saying they felt like quitting over it. The heart was ripped out then, and never recovered for some. I think the "I'm out" thread sums it up well enough.
Abridged version of what she shared-
She's seen for a long time that minorities, (regarldless of belief, gender, race, etc.) here are treated unequally. IMO, she honestly was a idealist and wanted to see atheists espouse equality and reason, over the perceived religious intolerance of decades past. She found out that people are people and theists don't have the corner market on intolerance.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I think what Eilonnwy saw as intolerance was what many others saw as light hearted fun.
All she really needed was a sense of humour. She has always been oversensitive, a lot of the time I saw her calling out racism, sexism and homophobia when there really wasn't any, it was like she was always trying to get the moral upper hand. She would sit up on her high horse talking about how she tries to 'educate' people who really don't need educating.
