I might be a dumbass or just not up to date with news on the shooter because I don't understand why the Las Vegas shooter would be considered a terrorist.
I see the definition of terrorist is unlawfully using intimidation and violence, especially against civilians, in pursuit of political aims.
I haven't kept up with the Las Vegas shooter reports but so far he seems to have no link to any kind of political/religious movement at all.
Last time I heard there were claims he was part of ISIS or purposefully killing conservatives but both claims are unfounded.

I think that's where the confusion comes in. The definition is intimidation, violence, especially to civilians for a political cause.
If causing terror makes a terrorist then bungee jumping and spiders are terrorists.
