If a woodchuck couldn't chuck wood, how would it provide for Tina and the baby? It's only 6 weeks until they're moving into a studio apartment in Lower Woodchucksville, closer to the river and the woodmarkets than they might have preferred.

But money is tight even for woodchucks who can chuck wood, so what hope do they have? 3 weeks out of work, 2 months until young Carrie is due, and winter's on its way...

They're British biscuits (cookies) that have fig inside of them and are in the shape of rolls.

What's the difference between a biscuit and a cookie to the Brits?  Seriously.  Why is there a distinction?  Is it a hardness thing?  Biscuits are hard, cookies are soft?  Because to me, a Ginger Snap is as much a cookie as a chocolate chip cookie is even though one is hard and the other is soft, while a biscuit is a flaky muffin.  I have honestly never under stood this distinction in British English.

Also, if the British call french fries chips, what do you call potato chips?  Are they both just "chips"? How do you avoid confusion? Because there are restaurant options here where you can choose a side of fries or a side of chips. For Brits would it be a side of chips or.... chips?

Americans have improved on the the English language in so many ways...

What you call cookies are biscuits. What you call biscuits are scones, rolls or muffins. The distinction between cookies and biscuits has nothing to do with hardness.

What you call 'chips' are properly called 'crisps'.

Right now, I'm wondering how you couldn't have already known this.

Then what is a cookie to you? Or do you even have them?
