Making a good design that works on multiple devices is effing hard.

It doesn't matter if it works on multiple devices if it looks like utter shit. Big Grin

Add: multiple browsers, and then start looking for a bottle of bleach to drink, amirite?

It still hurts my eyes immediately. I wouldn't even take time to find out what is there. Just sayin.

Is this still going?

How many websites are actually being made?

Or is this more of a Great Wall of China type situation: never ending work, monumental effort, and the deaths of many slaves?

In my honest opinion, the design of this forum's desktop version is terrible. It's full of distractions and renders the forum almost useless on slower connections. That's why I am using the mobile version even when I am at home.

My design isn’t bad, yours is! Neener neener!

Anyway, I noticed your webpage has a link to AF. That’s kinda cool.

I’m pretty sure the Pac-Man eats the dots and tries to avoid the ghosts. Except sometimes when he eats the ghosts. I hope that helps Smile

OK, do you have any actual fonts and colors in mind that would work well for such a website? Because I think that your comments here honestly come down to nothing but "I'm guessing you didn't spend weeks and months trying to make the right design and I find that pretty insulting because I do that."

If I correctly understood you, you think that the colors are too saturated. Well, I've tried to run it in grayscale and it looked even worse. Do you think that setting the saturation of the colors to 50% would do the trick?
Is there some program that would do it quickly for many colors entered in RGB in hexadecimal?

The fact is; that website of yours is an absolute horror and no amount of tweaking will fix it. I can't even say it's a valiant attempt, it is an absolute fucking horror!
Do this: try and find site's that look just like yours. If you manage to find one at all I can almost guarantee it will be new-age crystal healing or some other such bollocks. Do you have traffic analysis? How long do they stay before they hit the back button?
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

This. Get Google Analytics or whatever.

Well, using Lucida (or some similar font) light-green letters on a dark background was taken from the Notepad++ site and some messages in the 2dBoys games. As for the other colors and fonts, I've chosen them randomly (which was a pretty bad decision).
Besides, the whole point of CSS and website builders is to try to make a website that's unlike any other, right?

It's not just the saturation.  It's the contrast of colors that don't go together, backgrounds that make it difficult to read the font, and so on.  You don't need a program to edit your colors.  You need a completely fresh start, from ground zero.

The surprising thing is that you've spent time designing a website, but haven't gone to any website that actually exists to find one that is appealing.  Look at this site: simple, functional, generally pretty elegant.  Colors are used to draw attention here and there, to make titles stand out and so on.

The point of website design is to arrange information on the screen in a way that will be as functional as possible: things are easy to find, there's a nice simple design that's easy to follow, there's just enough visual bling to add a little interest. Having unwarranted sounds or high-contrast-color animations is very distracting and does absolutely zero to present your information.
