Vor is up for a cholecystectomy

RE: Vor is up for a cholecystectomy
Yeppers.

And neighbor lady went in for shoulder pain, not gall bladder. Pretty much same with me. Couple months ago had shoulder x-rayed and other than light arthritis, nothing seems to be wrong. And I've been shoveling down motrin and aspirin ever since.

Also, the pain is variable. Sometimes radiates down arm and up into back of neck. And it doesn't 'focus' in the shoulder, it moves around and/or is diffuse at times.

I think it's pressure on the nerve, and there isn't any 'real' pain in my shoulder at all. Glad, so far, I didn't have time to get the cortisone injection in the shoulder joint. I really can't think it would have helped.

Just want this to be over . . . .

Found a write up online.  Gall bladder problems can cause shoulder and neck pain.  And the shoulder issues I have are bizarre.  No range of motion issues at all, pain occurs when I'm not moving.  Hell, gall bladder surgery is worth it just to fix shoulder pain.

Face it. You're an old man and you're falling apart Big Grin

At this stage all you really need is some WD-40 and some Duct tape.

No shit. Been a rough year; 3 cancer scares, shoulder issue and gall bladder goes to hell.

Woke up early this AM, didn't really sleep last night. Side hurts and haven't eaten since Tuesday evening, so that is annoying too.

Had just a sip of water and a Prilosec when I got up, was given permission for that and a Norco too. Will time the Norco to wear off around scheduled time of procedure. Pretty sure I get a prescription for post-op pain. Cousin informed me he was back at work (delivery driver) in 4 days. But also have a sister with some complications; one incision with inflammation, and a gall stone that was free range in her. I won't go into details, but I don't think I can go thru what she did.

[shudder]

Really think I've been ignoring some major warning flags for most of the year too. And then dr missed shoulder pain/gall bladder connection. But so did I, forgot all about neighbor lady with essentially identical experience.

I can't rule out Prilosec perhaps masking some of the symptoms to a degree, and allowing me to really go the distance in ignoring gall bladder concerns until I got to harvest time and the sudden jolt in severity got my ass in for physician assistance.

Didn't have any phlegm issues either.

In another thread here I was informed stomach mucus confirms the god theory. I'm sure phlegm factors into that as well.

Found my blood work results online. Most parameters are normal except for 3 that are way off. All involve liver functioning.

No surprise, I guess, but I'm thinking I'm pretty screwed up from that.
