Some philosophers probably do not like words.  Still, I think that most are pretty level-headed.

I think the results of the poll dictate that most of them are sensible and a few of them are idiots

What was the response rate of the survey?  If it wasn't at least 85%, then I would take it with a large grain of salt.  Having said that, if you take those numbers as accurate, what would follow from the fact?  Not much...

Hundreds years ago those who though that the earth was flat and the center of the universe were probably
99% of the population yet after sometime they were proven wrong so statistics in most cases are like farts.

Even these days those who know what philosophy is all about are very very few yet the majority of fools spout foolish statements that they know all.

Few years ago I did ask people in this forum what philosophy is all about.
Guess what?

People have known the Earth is round for thousands of years but thanks Rik. If we stumble upon evidence for God as great as the evidence for a round Earth be sure to call me okay?

Also just because you think they will be wrong doesn't make statistics "farts"... it just wanted to know how many in the philosophy community were theist vs atheist... that's what statistics do...

Very few surveys (including, the US Census) get an 85% response rate!

It would follow that most philosophers are atheists. Which is what this thread is about.

Oh, and of course, it means people who actually think about stuff don't believe in bullshit as much.
