I was brought up with Great Danes. From an early age I have been among dogs that tower over me so my sense of scale is slightly skewed. I absolutely adore dogs. I can't wait to have a life where I get a chance to have my own pack some day.

I quite like dogs (although we don't have one at the moment).

Smartest dog I ever knew was a border collie called Trixie.  She was one of six farm dogs we had when I was a kid.  During Sunday dinners, she would stand by one of the outbuildings (out of sight of the house) and bark like mad as if something was wrong.  When we ran out to see what the trouble was, she would dash in through the door we'd left open, snag food off the table, and run out across the fields like a rocket.

My best friend as a toddler was our sheepdog, Tippy. We used go everywhere.

I'll see if I can dig up any old photos over the weekend.

Easily the best thing about a beagle...right up there with their uncontrollable urge to range for miles.  They'll chase long and you never lose them.   They naturally want to do everything I want a dog to do..so training them is easy.  The only kink, in my experience...is that some of them are gun shy. Understandable, really. Most dogs, but not all dogs. That probably holds true for the owners also.

People love dogs too much these days. Other day I saw a woman in Lowes with a big bulldog in a shopping cart. Like WTF, if the next person to use that cart has allergies (like 2 people in my family) you just ruined their day.

Also a few weeks ago I was out on a jog and a dog bit me. Carrying pepper spray now.

Dogs are fine, but irresponsible dog owners piss me off.
