What do people hate/dislike about you?

RE: What do people hate/dislike about you?
I've been told that I'm "haughty" and/or "think too much of myself". But that's just ludicrous.
A healthy, inflated ego, certainly. But not overly so.

I honestly don't feel that I'm better than most folks. I just reject the notion that most anyone's better than me. Big Grin

Most think I'm an easy going cool dude...

Oh, you mean the people that actually know me? I can't ask them what they think of me, there's restraining orders in place...

I'm with you.  I think that narcism is part of a continuum, but the opposite poll is deflated self worth.  The ideal is in between somewhere but if I had to err, let it be on the side of too much rather than too little.

I can’t be specific. It’s just all of me. People who can’t stand me simply can’t stand me as a whole. I don’t fight it. I see it, I look at it in the eye, and then I go about my day.

Oh, and I can’t stand loud eaters. Chewing noises piss me off. I can’t stand my own chewing, so I play music when I eat.

Sooooooo with you. Even living alone, I have the TV up as loud as it can go so I get distracted so I don't pay attention to myself.

A classic Aussie band ...

(Incidentally, The lead singer passed away in an ultralight accident. A great singer, always in tune but couldn't for the life of him tell the difference between an E and an F on the fucking fuel gauge!)

Probably different people like and hate different things about me. My mother says I don't smile enough and am too shy and am hard to talk to.

Me, I dunno. I guess I get confrontational. I'm old fashioned and still appreciate "sir" somewhere I am shopping and dining. No "honey, sweety, etc.". Plus, I'd really rather the transit bus driver not say "god bless you" on my way out of the bus.

My poop
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Well said. I think "Self-Love" is probably a good sweet spot on the spectrum. Self-Obsession is to far. Self-aggrandizement, well that's 45 territory. Anything less than Self-Love and you gotta move "toward" narcissism.

(BTW, I finally met Rik. lol)
