I've been between dogs for years, but no more.  Meet Allie - she is a rescue dog who came to the Oregon Humane Society from a kill shelter in northern California apparently after being picked up as a stray.  She came along with a litter of pups, who were all also adopted over the weekend.  She's very shy and has taken several days to come out of her shell, but it seems evident that she was part of a family at one time.  She has been enjoying her new life of comfort outside of the shelter.

My stepson and his girlfriend did the same as you, saw a young dog with pups at a shelter and decided to take the mom home instead of a pup. Like his, I'm sure your furniture will thank you.

Not quite sure exactly what she is. The shelter says she's an American Pit Bull Terrier/Mix but she's possibly got some Shar Pei and Lab in her. May do a DNA analysis just to see if I'm right.
