A Christians Stormy Trump Position

RE: A Christians Stormy Trump Position
I just find the hypocrisy disturbing, from both Trump and the Christian right.

One of many reasons I left religion.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

It's a bit more than hypocrisy, ain't it ?

Ditching Jesus and the Bible for temporary political expediency is rebellion against God. Not merely hypocrisy.

Supporting Trump is an amazingly vigorous and willful rebuke against God.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Wow, Tony Perkins, Franklin Graham, Mike Pence, and others of that ilk turn out to be scumbags.

Who knew?

Hypocrisy is not a thing to some people.

Like the people who said Bill Clinton's personal life should be private and didn't matter?

How is it that the face of christian evangelism, and more disturbingly it's interface with government.... became Tony Perkins..of all people?  Really dredging the bottom of the barrel on that one.

Quote:Tony Perkins heads the Family Research Council, an anti-LGBT hate group located in Washington, D.C. Perkins has a sordid political history, having once purchased Klansman David Duke’s mailing list for use in a Louisiana political campaign he was managing. In 2001, Perkins gave a speech to a Louisiana chapter of the Council of Conservative Citizens, a white supremacist group.

But hey, boo! Bill Clinton! You know?  I;m sure we can find even more fucked up dems...it just seems lazy at this point. Wink

Quote:Evangelical Christians, says Perkins, “were tired of being kicked around by Barack Obama and his leftists. And I think they are finally glad that there’s somebody on the playground that is willing to punch the bully.”

So Trump is basically a demigod who came to save the Christianity and Christians from persecution. I truly wonder how did Obama "kick them around"? Because he didn't behave like a total asshole?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Those people aren't preachers who go on and on about how important family is and act like they're all about virtue and values.

I really don't care what he does with his dick. I see flaming hypocrisy on the religious right.
If they find that he's cheating on his wife while in office(very likely) I don't think he should be impeached because of that.

With both him and Bill, there is immorality there because they broke a promise to someone that loved them (well I'm not sure Melania loved the cheeto with the gnat like attention span)

That said you could impeach him on anti-nepotism laws or I'm guessing a half dozen other things. But then you get President Pence.
