Even democratic nations sometimes have army parades and so what? They have soldiers parading around and people give them tribute - whatever. But of course the difference is that Trump wants it to be about him (like what leaders do in totalitarian countries) and not about the army because he doesn't give a shit about the soldiers. Heard an interview with Eaton this morning. He was scathing, and rightfully so.

Military parades seem to be largely the province of authoritarian regimes -- NaZi or otherwise. France is the only democracy I can think of that stages them regularly, and theirs is a century-old tradition.
