I know you're mostly atheists, however I wondered if there are any beliefs, other than in god, that may be common among you. In other words what do you believe in?

What do you believe in?

Don't expect to find much of anything in common. Put two people in a room and you'll find one hundred conflicting opinions. I'm a metaphysical naturalist. (Search for it on Wikipedia.)
"Belief" is for saps.
Show me the evidence and we can talk.
I'm not a sap.

Hmm... well, I do ascribe to theological noncognitivism, I suppose I could be labeled an ignostic atheist. And I to would fall under the category of metaphysical naturalist -- as well as existentialist, secular humanist, and absurdist. Though my intellectual musings are often cut short; I'll mean to start a string of thoughts beginning with the words "I exist because..." but instead it becomes "I exist... I EXIST! Look at my hands, I have two! And over there, a tree! And there's a car! It has wheels!" My perspectives vary from staunch skepticism and cynicism to curious amusement.
In Metaphor Land there are only three types of people: people of Faith, Wonder, and Information. I find myself fitting more neatly in to the category of a "Wonder" constantly seeking out "Information".
"Faith is about taking a comforting, childlike view of a disturbing and complicated world." ~ Edward Current
There are no common beliefs among atheists. Some might believe in fairies, though I am sure most do not. If you want to find people with common beliefs, go to a church. Atheists have common knowledge of one thing only. Sorry to disappoint.
I believe in human rights.
I believe in acting with integrity. I believe in taking responsibility for one's actions. I believe human civilization has great potential. I believe if we can leave this world better then we found it, that establishes what we might call "meaning" to our lives. I believe in our American Constitution. Just a few things I thought of off the top of my head.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist (November 12, 2010 at 7:56 pm)Cando Wrote: I know you're mostly atheists, however I wondered if there are any beliefs, other than in god, that may be common among you.
