RE: Nuclear War must become obsolete OP/ED

If you stupidly think I think of myself as world hero, that is what is really laughable. I am nobody's hero, but I the more people worldwide who do care and do say something, the more preventable it can become.
Nukes were not build by one human, nor are they all in the hands of one human. It is only a collective effort of more voices that acts as the prevention. If you think I am going to stop posting forget it. I hope more people worldwide do the same thing I am doing. I don't want shit for what I am posting nor am I making a dime for what I am posting. I am not looking for a Nobel Peace Prize either. But if you think making fun of me is going to stop me, forget it.

It's like saying "I've put some thought into it, and you may want to sit down for this because you're in for a shock, but I don't think you should hit old ladies with your car."
It's such a unanimously held belief, the idea someone would try to explain it or convince people of it is hilarious.
The good news, I guess, is that I'm with you 100%. I think we should avoid destroying the earth with nuclear weapons.
Hey fuckface, like I said, nobody is forcing you to take anything seriously. If you like joking about it go ahead. I could give one shit less what you think.
The issue of nuclear annihilation is serious. This thread is not. That's why I make jokes here, but would refrain from juggling watermelons next to a launch button.

It's hard to take seriously people who take themselves too seriously.

What kind of stupid question is that? Powerful people worldwide, friend and foe, have the power to burn the entire planet. Since I am one of the 7 billion yes, I give a fuck about that not happening. I am not sure why that was not obvious. If it was meant as sarcasm, it wasn't funny. I would hope any sane human with an ounce of compassion would give a shit about preventing global destruction.
If you are not taking our global politics happening now seriously, you should. If you don't want to, I can't force you to. But I damned sure do take what is going on very seriously.
And what difference does it make if I take it seriously ? I have no control over nuclear weapons.

Yes it is serious, you are the one not taking it seriously. You don't get to decide for me what my intent was in posting it.
If you agree that the threat of nuclear annihilation is serious, then you make yourself look like a jackass in this thread with your responses.
Regardless, I could care less what you personally think about why I started this thread. If you think you can do better and you really are taking it seriously, then you are pissing in the wind with your remarks to me.

Thank you for letting me know I'm making an ass out of myself. It'd be shame if I were embarrassing myself, and had no idea.

Holy fucking shit.
The issues are NUKES, not me.
AGAIN, if poking fun of this thread gets your rocks off, have at it, there still is a real world out there beyond what you think I am doing or should do. I if people here admit that the thread of global nuclear war is serious, then you are pissing in the wind in this thread.

Meh. I'm anti-death and pro-survival of those who are already alive, but I'm also anti-birth and anti-surivival of our species.
I'm very against a nuclear war killing us all, but if we can all stop breeding that would be fantastic. There's one cure for 100% of all human suffering.... but bombing the shit out of the world isn't.... and that produces suffering for life on the entire planet If we all stopped breeding? One day there would be no human suffering at all by completely peaceful means.
Death is bad but birth isn't good. At least not in most cases. There are some lives worth living, just not many in this shitty world. I'm one of the lucky few (and even I have my moments). Think of the third world.
And hey, if I one day turn out to be 86 years old dying in agony of cancer despite the strongest pain meds.... the agony may be bad enough that I felt like the rest of my life wasn't worth being born.
So hey, even for the lucky few, perhaps being born ain't so great.
Death? Yeah that's bad. Bombs and violence and war and the millitary is all very bad m'kay. And nuclear war would cause gigantic amounts of suffering.

Brian is indeed known for being preachy enough that he can derail other threads with this sort of stuff.
But this is his thread.... and yes, nuclear annihilation is serious, but if you actually read the original post in full you will see he's correct about everything he says in it.
I haven't read anything else he's said on this thread, so I dunno if I agree with any of that. But the original post is spot on.
