Porn Stars, Playmates, and Christian Politics

RE: Porn Stars, Playmates, and Christian Politics
I find it strange that the Christian Agenda never seems to include welfare, and instead includes cuts for food stamps and meals on wheels. But hey! They tried to stop same sex couples from getting married, so I guess that's good enough. It's like Jesus said: "You want to eat? Go get a job, don't be a fucking freeloader."
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Quote:a president who is honorable and lives his life as a follower of Christ

He'd never get the nomination of either party!

Although he might get crucified.

No way, so "private life" doesn't matter. Then I must ask you this: would you vote for a guy and support him as a president if he supported same politics you did except that he is gay and married to a guy? I mean as a politician he has same viewpoints as you do but in private life he is different and is inseminating his husband on daily basis.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

True. I guess this is why successful politicians always suck.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

BTW, this non=disclosure agreement thing;

Did Stormy disclose something it covers? I hear there is a threat of a lawsuit. So, something she said is relevant to the terms and conditions, right ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

If the other candidate was Hillary? Absolutely.

Bill Clinton was a lecher but was still a pretty good president. Newt Gingrich treated his wives despicably and yet proved to be one of the most effective House Speakers ever. LBJ's personal racism didn't seem to affect his civil rights agenda. JFK's multiple affairs didn't hinder America's space program. How people vote and who they support is not a simple calculus. The best of men are men at best.

Are there any other categories that get a pass, or is it just politicians?

Or maybe it's "as long as they provide what we want we're willing to look the other way" which can be applied to all.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I am more worried that someone, probably working for Trump, threatened Stormy Daniels in front of her kid before this all started.

This is about abuse of power in a Putinesque way.

As JK Rowling wrote in Harry Potter 7, "Those who are best suited to power are those who never sought it."
