Fear

Fear
The greatest aspect of love is fear, because it is the aspect of love that seeks to protect what it has, and that is the greatest aspect of gratitude, to protect and appreciate the greatest treasure you are given is through fear and that most treasured aspect of appreciation. And fear also seeks to protect gratitude from the state of ingratitude, certainty from doubt, and vision from blindness. It safeguards the individual but also seeks to protect others and society. That is what fear is, it's a protector. Don't ever mix that with cowardice.

RE: Fear
Fear is weaponized by the abuser to keep prisoners in line. It is not a virtue, but rather an unnecessary atrocity.

RE: Fear
Misused hope, misused love, misused energy, strength, and will power are all evil.

But wisdom is to put everything it's proper place, and fear has it's place, as the top virtue from what I understand.

It is the greatest aspect of appreciation and it's height, to protect what it has, and hoping for increase while not caring if one would lose what is given, is crazy talk.

Fear is then also the height of intelligence, and the mark of great virtue.

Careless people who break others and themselves, don't fear to lose their souls or other souls.

That is almost the height of misguidance, but worse would be despair of good, while despairing of all that is bound to perish is a thrust from fear, and it's greatest weapon.

Everything has it's place, to despair of what has no meaning and no purpose, while holding on to what does have meaning and purpose, and everlasting gain, is the height of being loving and appreciating person to what has true value.

Brainwashing is wrong no matter what. Whether it is to let go of fear that is justified or to put a fear that is unjustified, brainwashing is wrong.

And to fear being brainwashed is a great virtue, that will make people vigilant, and seek proof in who they rely on for enlightenment.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Cowardice is precisely the sort of fear that is feared for its own sake, and paralyzes the person from exploring the real basis of the fear.

For example, the type of fear you wax lyrical about.

To let go of fear because you are afraid of fear and the feeling and it's effects, is just lack of courage to face fear.

If your preaching about fear and courage, then why aren't you "dying" at work to earn money to promote God's will trough charity, for example? It's easy to speculate on forum, it's hellish to actually live by those high standards.

RE: Fear
Fear & love. There is a good explanation about it in the book by John Cleese and his psychiatrist where they explain love and it all comes to the part that I circled with red paint

They talk about experiment on monkeys where some monkeys were put with their mothers in the usual way; others in bare cages separated from their mothers; a third lot in similar cages with a wire frame in the shape of a mother which was fitted with little teats in the places where the mother's nipples would normally be, from which the baby could get food; and a fourth lot with a similar mother-shaped wire dummy, but which was covered in furry cloth.

I would really recommend you MK to read this book it's called "Families and How to Survive Them" because it explains in a clear way a lot of things that you are trying to figure out but making it over-complicating.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
