Quote: I think I should have said that he should have dressed his age.
"Should"? Your father has every right to look as pleases, even if you don't approve. He has every right to look like a dick if he chooses.
My father found a hair style he liked in 1939,and never changed it again.(he died in 2006) Had I criticised him, I would have received a well-deserved clip around the ear for being disrespectful.
As for myself, I stopped wearing any kind of bling at about age 40, and began having my hair buzz cut . That was also the time I began losing my hair on the crown. I had concluded I looked like a pimp and didn't want to.
I have one tattoo, and have hated it since the morning after I got it. ( Singapore,New Year's Eve 1969.) However,I could not care less what others choose do to their bodies. I WILL say most tattoos look truly disgusting on old saggy skin, especially if they have faded and lost definition..

Indeed, I can't dictate my father what to wear, I'm not his father.
All I'm saying is, that I think he should look more his age now.
It isn't even a suggestion, as I'd certainly not be able to tell him that as it'd sound like I was dictating him on what to wear.

Or any other relatives I have.
But he is somone who does not really care what others think of him, most of the time although he has a good reputation everywhere, so no one else really cares.
I have to dress to comply with my reputation, but he dresses no matter his reputation.

I think I would like your father for that reason alone mehmet. What reputation do you have to live up to?? Sounds a horrible burden.

Not too horrible as you might think. It's akin to...How to say, to suit the etiquette. Like you can't go to an official business meeting with shorts and flip-flops. I extend that to every day life.

Nothing wrong with wanting to look and dress your best mate. Do it myself as the occasion dictates.
Being from Australia (the weather is not conducive to "cocktail wear") a rather more relaxed "Dress Casual" is appropriate...perhaps your dad is of the opinion that he is now old enough to not care what others think of him?

In purely etymological terms, it's the italian word for "reason" which we borrowed.
But it generally outlines a secondary unofficial rules of conduct and lifestyle to a youngblood such as myself.
You dictate your social life towards this, whenever you drink, whenever you greet eachother, and even the way you walk and talk.
People who live this way are generally treated with more respect from people you know and you don't know alike.
People are more likely to refer to you with desirable titles, and think twice about fucking with you during their druken rages. It generally describes a person that keeps his cool most of the time. In rare cases, it can also apply to females.
