It's a no brainer to the public.

Unfortunately, politicians seem to have no brains.

Indeed, it is a no brainer. However, the drug and insurance companies haven't packaged and marketed it yet. As soon as that happens, the lobbies will give it the green light.

Don't be silly.  How would Jeff Sessions arrest minorities?

Complete no brainer. If we want to solve the opioid crisis having pain alternatives is a must . But the war on weed is so ingrained in society leaders refuse to think outside the box . But thank goodness that's slowly changing . But i cringe at the cost till it does . Sad

Now, while I'm not a person who partakes of marijuana, I've had my sons watch "Reefer Madness", just to show them the kind of indoctrination I received as a teen. They think it's one of the stupidest films made. I don't think that any of my peers in the 8th Grade thought that that shit made any sense, even in 1965. I have friends in law enforcement who have told me that the "War on Drugs" was lost a long time ago. Legalization of pot will go a long way to helping with the problem, as long as it not taxed so heavily that the bootleg part keeps profitable.

Correlation is not causation. That was around the time that hospitals cut back on the amount of opioids they were prescribing anyway to try to combat the epidemic , and people just switched to heroin. If those previous prescription users just switched to the black market, that stat is meaningless.

So because I thought the prescription number was sort of irrelevant, I looked up overdose deaths and guess what? Every state that legalized marijuana has seen their overdose deaths go down after legalization while the rest of the country has seen them skyrocket!

So the study stands, although I think they asked the wrong question by not including the black market.

Toke up.

Side note, guess what the FDA appears to be promoting.

"An FDA advisory panel on Thursday voted unanimously to recommend approval of a cannabidiol product to treat seizures caused by Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndromes..."

I thought this was Schedule I/no medicinal value.
