I'm pretty much the opposite. People I only know offline: I always feel like they're trying to use me in some way. Even if they mean well and they're not aware of it. They always ask me for favors when I never ask them for favors, they always offer advice when I never ask for advice.... they always seem to want to change me or help me even when I don't want it. That is never what I would call a friendship. Fair enough if I let them know I want it!

Online it seems that precsiely because people are unable to take advantage of me even by accident... it means that if they want to talk to me it must truly be because they enjoy my company. So online stuff feels less superficial to me.

But then I'm weird.
