I've found that attempting to interpret what the ramblings of bronze-age fairy tale authors are trying to say is a mostly fruitless endeavor. I find little to no value in reading the Bible, or the Torah or Quran for that matter. It's all nonsense. It's 2018, let's use CURRENT information to understand how to best live today. Not stuff from thousands of years ago. Not to say that there are NO good, old ideas, of course. Just that the ones from the "holy books" are 99% bullshit.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
