By the way, while I don't agree with your religious views, I admire your tenacity to ''defend'' your faith.
Thank you. You might agree one day who knows, took me years before these proofs found in Quran and even what remains of the Torah today, became clear.
It takes time. And I seek refuge from my heart inclining to other then the truth of God's light and relying other then his reminder, for in that lies a hate and disregard towards God, that will lead me astray.

Well, I'm 1/3 Iranian/Syrian, so if I converted it would be fitting for that side of my ancestry. lol
I honestly don't see myself converting. I looked into Islam a few years ago, and the issues I had with it, are Sharia Law, how women are treated in general, and their view of Jesus. Even I don't adhere to Christianity as I once did, I don't believe Islam's version of the Jesus story. Now, it's likely that you might not follow Islam to the letter, but those are some fundamental base lines that I couldn't see myself, accepting.

I don't like what the Shariah as is teaches about women and their rights either, but not sure what you mean exactly. For example, I don't agree with divorce laws as they are.
I try to follow Islam to the letter, I just don't let people without proof they are proofs and without proof they are leaders, manipulate me into believing their interpretation and their conclusions regarding religion nor relying on them to think for me. For one, most of Quran is about exactly that, and for good reason.
Translations are horrible often. And so I'm not sure what ails you regarding Islam, but, I told you before I don't blame you for not accepting it when it's been butchered and used for manipulation and spread of ignorance, and when it teaches many evil things in the name of God and they attribute to God what they do not know despite it's warnings not to do so.

Sometimes, I wonder about life. My life, and how it relates to others' lives. How I can read a situation, and think I really get it, but a few days later, I find out, that I read the entire situation all wrong. That I assumed all the wrong things.
Wouldn't it be great, if every single day...you could not assume anything. You could just look at new situations and new people, and not attach anything to them. Just let them play out as they should, instead of writing the narrative. I want to be that person. If there were ever an existential bucket list, that would be on it.
To stop assuming and to let myelf be surprised, either way.
I really do appreciate what you have written here. IMO, it is an awesome feeling to be able to put one's assumptions and preconceptions on the sidelines and to genuinely be open to viewing one's surroundings through the lenses of others. Suspending judgement of others and seeking to understand how the other makes sense of his or her surroundings, facilitates an inner calmness/confidence, which IMO, is very empowering: it creates a mindset of peace, inquiry, and understanding . This type of mindset has gotten away from me for the past couple of years, but I'm definitely trying to get it back and make it a part of me again.

I'm glad this resonated with you. I think the challenge with it, if we're honest, is that there are too many occasions when we have been insulted or disrespected by people in the past, to not make automatic assumptions about the next situation. But, it's an amazing day when I meet people who surprise me, in a good way.

I like this statement, although sometimes, I think, we must assume things.

Today, is the longest day of the year (most daylight?) and the beginning of summer. Happy summer solstice! Although, where I live feels like summer most of the time. I sat outside tonight, looking up at the beautiful shades of the sky, I guess the sun had already set, but there were these peach splotches all over the sky, that just looked amazing. I thanked God for the beauty of the view, but no matter what any of us believe when it comes to the supernatural, nature is something to take in, any time...any place. I feel a calmness whenever I go for a run on a nature path, or a swim in a lake. I feel this sense that everything's going to be okay, whenever I'm at the beach, or just sitting outside like I did tonight.
I didn't create any ritual, but I might remember this day, and just treat it differently next year...instead of acting like it's just another, ordinary day.

A few random thoughts for the day...
*I posted ''bs'' on a Wicca forum, and I was ''warned.'' haha Wowzers, okay. (It was in a thread I started about spell casting and I was explaining things about my work situation and my boss' ''bs'' was how I worded it.) Anyway, I rarely ever read forum ''rules,'' but I guess I better read theirs.
*I'm going to see Jurassic World today, and I really love movies about dinosaurs. I think this one will be really cool considering this is to take place in anyplace suburbia or something. It got me to thinking about creationists and carbon dating. Since most creationists believe earth to be 6000 or so years old, I try to imagine the world ''BC.'' Could dinosaurs have roamed the earth just 6000 years ago, and did God create them? I don't know if creationists really answer those questions, but do they deny that dinosaurs even existed? Oh wait, I did read recently that there is a pastor who is supposedly well known in certain circles, and he's saying that there is no such thing as dinosaurs and all of the fossils are frauds. lol
I believe dinosaurs existed, and that's what makes going to watch Jurassic World even more exciting.
Happy Saturday to you all!

New Jurassic world is pretty rad, hope you enjoy it Watch out though, it made me and the girlfriend cry at one point, so be warned! (Then again, i am a bit of a wuss, so maybe not so much of a warning )
