btw..i love new technology Tongue

What I was attempting to stress is that the notion of technology "replacing" humanity may be a non starter.  It may be the case (as it has been the case so far) that every new advancement or replacement more fully expresses what we are down to our very core.

Imagine some distant future where every biological bit of humanity has been replaced....with each successive iteration we seek to enhance those abilities which we take tyo be meaningful or valuable or..in a word, human.  Would the end product of those iterative improvements not be even more competently and fully human than ourselves? Or..at the very least...capable of expressing those parts we take to be valuable about ourselves without the hangups of the things we find distasteful?

In that sense, all that we cling to when we worry about a loss of humanity through tech..is a loss of our flaws, our defects, our weakness and our counterproductive ticks. Perhaps it might even be the fear that a better version of ourselves may one day be staring back at us, and the crushing insecurities and doubts about ourselves that this situation would present.

-all that said, I;m totally down for sabotaging cyberdyne before it starts up...just recognizing a part ( a big part) of the underlying drive between that resistance response..already present when we invest handcrafted bowls with greater value even though they are of inferior quality - proof positive through all the tiny imperfections that the hardworking peoples of so and so, and not some filthy cold machine...produced them. We cherish our defects, particularly the human defect..and at the same time long to be free from them. It;s quite the little drama playing out in our psyche..when you think about it.
