We eat Halal because God commanded. The question is per Quran and context, what is the philosophy behind this and can anyone prove it?

We're atheists, why should we be bothered to fulfil your tasks?
I can tell you this - it's a pain in the arse having to have a special counter just to cut halal meat to avoid imaginary cross-contamination in an already quite small commercial kitchen.
