Which of these is more dispespectful to "the troops"?

Which of these is more dispespectful to "the troops"?
I'm not a fan of the USA and its wars; that should be clear by now. Even so, I feel it's important to point out the apparent hypocrisy of the Trump Administration on the military. So what's more disrespectful?

Is it either:

1. Kneeling during the national anthem of the USA?

OR:

2. The White House attempting to hide a report stating that members of US military have been drinking contaminated groundwater in order to avoid a “public relations nightmare”.

(EDIT: should have made this a poll...oh well)

Many join the military and understand what's involved and yet they continue to be treated like crap by the goverment. Like they are just another cog in the machine that can be replaced. To me it seems sad that, for many, a career in the military is viewed as a person's only route out of poverty.

So...does Donald Trump really care about "the troops" as he has claimed?

I think the Trump Administration were worried the mainstream media were actually going report on this. Which they aren't really. The news outlets in the United States do such a poor job.

It's always weird how conservatives will shout about respecting the troops while they're in service, but once they're out they're at risk for being shat on. God forbid someone goes through PTSD and becomes homeless, because republican conservatives are not likely to help you.

How is it weird?

American brand of conservatism conserves nothing, and is all about appearing to embrace whatever principle it would take to increase their influence on the government to ram through legislations that remove constraints on the further enrichment of the wealthy and further reduction of their obligation to pay for the infrastructure and society that enabled their enrichment.

Ironically, the troops don't find anything disrespectful that everyone keeps saying is disrespectful to them. Just saying.

They fight to preserve the freedoms that the government works to remove. "All threats, foreign and domestic ".

Conservatism in the US is nothing more than saying whatever it takes to gain a cover of rethorical moral advantage for doing and a coalition of convenience to do the most dispicably amoral things to profit a minority at the expense of everyone else.

Its only principle is those who grew wealthy at the expense of the society shall not be hindered In any way from extracting more and returning less to the society that had enriched them in the first place.

All else is but deception, propaganda and coalition building.

I love how the party is largely pro rich, but also has a healthy christian base, despite Jesus being very against the rich. I'd say he's against war too, except he said he comes not to bring peace, but a sword, and plans to come back and kill most of Humanity in the rapture.

I don't know what they are fighting for.  They sure as shit are not fighting for "our freedoms."  Generally it seems from actually listening to soldiers talk that they mainly fight for each other and most of them don't have a fucking clue why they are occupying this or that shithole of a hamlet because some officer thinks it will good on their record.

Jesus of evangelical Christianity is not against the rich or against war.  He is not against anything.  He is for making people stupid so they would believe anything and be easily menipluted.

That’s Why faith in Jesus is said by evangelicals to be all important while doing what Jesus is alledged to have said is not as important.

If Jesus was more for getting people to do the right things and less about making them gullible and manipulatable, than the order of priority would be reversed.
