The importance of sleep
#21
RE: The importance of sleep
I sleep an average of 4-6 hours a night during the week, longer at weekends. I could probably sleep more during the week but I can function on less. I've heard that 4% of the population can function on that, so I always figured I was in the 4%.

When you have three teenagers, you can easily function on Zombie mode.

I've been fucked on sleep since I was 17 years old.

Did you know that CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) has been linked to people who have had mono?  I had mono when I was 17 and diagnosed with CFS when I was in my 20's. Ever since then, I have never been able to feel fully rested no matter how much sleep I get. I am also an insomniac. Nights are hard for me because I typically average about 4-6 hours of sleep per night.

This doesn't look good for me at all.

I imagine I could qualify for CFS at times. For myself, going to the chiropractor seems to help tremendously. When I’m not feeling good, and I’m always tired, it means I need to go. The worst thing is, is that when I am tired, it seems I stay up later, I think because I’m going to be tired the next day anyway. I also have more trouble getting to sleep then (when I want to) I think it’s a nerve thing in my upper back, and neck.

Well I found out that I have a pinched nerve in my neck, so that's attributing to my not sleeping well. I'm hoping the therapy I'm getting will help with that. If not - I think the next step is surgery.

How did you find that out. I went to a doctor, and told the, that the Chiro helped, hoping that maybe they would do some scans or something. One told me to take vitamens, and another told me to work less. I didn’t go back to them.
