Do you know someone who is? Do you have a list of forums like this one where people with those issues get together and discuss solutions. I'm finding it difficult to find the proper place to discuss via the google bot. Any help would be appreciated.
Holy f do I wish I could randomly fall asleep. I have horrible insomnia.
You insensitive cunt.

It's embarassing for him and he's reluctant to get help. They haven't figured out why, whether narcolepsy just tired from sleep apnea or some circulation disorder. I have severe obstructive sleep apnea myself. I was looking for people who have dealt with something similar for their solutions. you can find a smart toilet that will clean your arse for you, light up and sprat freshener, but nothing to let you know if you're on it too long. Thanks @brewer I did see that. I'm not looking for a webinar or physical support group, but a place like this forum where people chat and discuss dealing with something. I just need some tips and trick to help before I go visit during the holidays.
They have pressure sensors, I'm thinking of some sort of dead man vigilance switch contraption, so that once you sit if you don't hit a button or something every 10-15 minutes it'll beep or light up. Any entrepreneurial spirits want to make the next big thing? I require 5% royalties for the idea, but I might invest too.
Have you looked at anti-sleep devices? Mostly promoted to truck drivers. They look kind of gimmicky but for the price might be worth a try. Not sure if the stimulus provided would snap someone out of a true narcoleptic episode.
Might be a stupid question but has he been medically evaluated?
Thanks brewer, I knew there was an angle I hadn't tried yet. I didn't even think of truckers, I ordered a nod alert device that monitors his head tilt, now it's just seeing what's causing it and getting him to wear it. I appreciate all the ideas. Thanks!

What? Insensitive? Not at all. Insomnia can be just as debilitating. I was being serious.
How about you stop putting thoughts in my head that are not there?
I was just expressing I have the opposite problem with the same results. Both are disruptive.
You said you wished you had narcolepsy to help with your insomnia. That’s insensitive, like all those unfeeling bungholes who say they wish they had anorexia to help control their weight.
That this thought WASN’T in your head is the fucking problem. That’s what ‘insensitive’
means, fer chissakes.

I've got a narcoleptic who reports to me. He often falls asleep while working and I can't keep an eye on him all the time to make sure he doesn't doze off. Sometimes I only find out because he hasn't gotten any work done in an hour. I don't want to punish someone for something they can't help, but I also can't allow someone to do as much work in a day as other people can do in an hour. He did get a med change and is doing about half a day's work, which I can live with if he keeps his quality high. It's a relief, I hate having to be an enforcer but we're on very tight deadlines and my team can't carry much slack.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
