Apparently I'm getting "too much like my dad" according to the Mrs. But she wont tell me which aspect of him I am getting like. She likes to be enigmatic does the wife.

I am a lot like my parents but I think I've had to trim down some traits they gave me just in order to survive.  Like my mum has anxiety and depression and takes pills for both.  She sometimes seems to lose herself in anxious thoughts whereas I like to think I have the ability to realize it's my problem with anxiety that might be an issue in any given circumstance rather than the thing I'm anxious about.  I try and do things which reduce my depression, exercise being the main one.  My dad is very very sensible and calm which is probably what I could have done with more of maybe.

In some ways I am like my parents. They were hippies when they were younger. I live a nomadic lifestyle that is hippyesque. I'm a slob, like my father. Travel alot, like he does. I manage my money well, and invest, like my mother. (Thank goodness) There are definitely ways we are similar.

However our beliefs are totally different. My parents are into tons of stupid woo. They both believe in psychic powers and reincarnation. I didn't get vaccinated as a kid. (Took care of it as an adult) all kinds of crazy shit. My mother is also sort of a racist.

I look a lot like my father. But i'm not like him according to most people. I'm not like my mother either, i think. I'm sure i have Some of their traits.
But personality wise my brother is much more like my mother and my sister is a lot like my father.

Actually, I am like my mother in that I have pretty good ability to plan for things, most of the time.

They came around quite a bit in the 80s, but while I was growing up in the 60s mom and dad were a little tough on hippies, foreigners, atheists, queers, blacks, and native Americans but curiously, not Jews. And strangely enough, they didn't like the Klan either. I quit trying to make sense of it long ago.

By the late 70s, they knew I was gay, but I don't think they ever figured out (or wanted to know) that I had been sexually active with members of all the groups they frowned upon.
