More thoughts about Immaculate Conception

RE: More thoughts about Immaculate Conception
The Mary cult got rolling after the Council of Ephesus in 431.  So, her bullshit is a 5th century invention.

I think it is connected to tithing. If you know that you are sin-free, why should you give money to church/priests?

But if you know that you are a sinful scum bound to hell, they go to to the church, donate money to priests/monks who pray for your salvation.

So, demand and supply get to work...

From the look of things God cares most about his holy men, levites, priests, monks, televangelists...
I liked the parts where these old yahoodies tolchock each other and then drink their Hebrew vino, and getting onto the bed with their wives' handmaidens.

2. Is it possible to rape a thing?

Why am I asking this... An Alabama court ruled that slaves " Because they are slaves, they are incapable of performing civil acts, and, in reference to all such, they are things, not persons."

Mary being a slave (or a bond-servant) of God was a thing and as such could not be possibly raped... possibly.

3. Was Virgin Mary afraid?

Is there a point to this thread?

After Christianity goes spectacularly public on the Day of Pentecost in Acts, they all immediately and completely vanish into thin air. Mary is never mentioned again. She never says or does anything, is never spoken to or heard of again, and nothing ever happens to her. We aren’t even told when or where she lived or died.

The writers were horrible story tellers.

Actually you are right. Are you an ex-catholic?

Actually, I know I'm right.

Technically, I'm still a Catholic, as I haven't been excommunicated (not for lack of trying, though).

I didn't know that either (ex-Protestant here if that makes a difference)... didn't know there was supposed to be anything special about Mary. Are you saying she was claimed to be born of a virgin as well as Jesus? Or am I completely misunderstanding your meaning here?

As to the other, have you tried swivelling your head around? Wink

RE: More thoughts about Immaculate Conception
It's kind of funny that she's a saint to the catholics, and nearly as important as Jesus himself. To a protestant, she's just that woman who gave birth to Jesus, shared a name with two or three other women, and got ignored once when she came up to Jesus while he was talking to other people. No confirmation if Joseph beat him with a rod when he got home after disrespecting his mother like that.
