A Secretive Banking Elite Rules Trading in Derivatives

RE: A Secretive Banking Elite Rules Trading in Derivatives
What? This is news? Come on, its normal business practice. Looking after their own interests.

It would be more of a headline if is was: "Big business players NOT colluding to protect their own interests". That would be a worldwide shock!

Quote:Bank of England governor suggested new group of UK, US, Swiss and Japan could facilitate global bailout, cable shows

The Bank of England governor, Mervyn King, was so concerned about the health of the world's banks in March 2008 that he plotted a secret bailout of the system using funds from cash-rich nations, according to a US embassy cable released by WikiLeaks.

Six months before the world financial crisis reached its peak, forcing taxpayers to rescue collapsing financial institutions, King told US officials in London that the UK, US, Switzerland and Japan could jointly enable a multibillion-pound cash injection into global banks, overriding the "dysfunctional" G7 nations.

The leak may allow King to claim that he – rather than Gordon Brown – was one of the brains behind the bailout of the banks

No like someone mentioned before
Quote:In the study of economics and market competition, collusion takes place within an industry when rival companies cooperate for their mutual benefit. Collusion most often takes place within the market structure of oligopoly, where the decision of a few firms to collude can significantly impact the market as a whole. Cartels are a special case of explicit collusion. Collusion which is not overt, on the other hand, is known as tacit collusion.

In fact the Eu forced a fine to a cartel of taiwan flat screen producers for forming a price cartel

Yeah, because JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley don't do any business overseas.

Come on Mishka baby, you can troll better than that.

And you apparently don't know about the international operations of all the banks you listed. You can do better than that!

EMEA = Europe, Middle East & Africa. You're wrong again, but you are used to that by now I'm sure.

P.S. Thanks for proving my point!
