That just seems so Un-German to me.

It does, right? But the guy who invented homeopathy was from right here in Saxony, and there was a big revival of it in the 70s apparently. It is actually specially protected by the government, including that insurance must cover it. There is a fight going on right now, with rational voices trying to put forward legislation to undo that, but it's such a big thing here they are getting tons of pushback. So many people here swear by it. And it's the middle and upper class that love it the most. It's like anti vaxxers in California back home.

There are laws that prevent homeopathy providers from treating any infectious diseases, so that's something I guess.

Update on the cat. I was going to take him to a different very today, but the coughing has really eased up. He didn't cough all night, only once for a few seconds this morning. Still no fever or lethargy so my husband said hold off. It looks like he'll recover on his own.

A checkup by a non-witch doctor wouldn't be a bad idea.

Yes, I am still going to make an apt, but now we don't have to pay to get in right away.  Aiming for Friday.

Now for the real trick, finding a non-witch doctor in Dresden.  Tongue

Glad he's getting past it.

We have the beginnings of the vet homeopathy/chiro/chinese herbal infestation here also. They don't really push it but offer it as an "alternative for consideration". It's all about the money. The owners ask about it and ethics go out the window in favor of dollars.

No placebo effect.

Yeah, but the goal isn’t to cure the animal, it is get the human to take the animal back to the vet again.

If they're smart enough to bomb Pearl Harbor they're smart enough to see a scam.
