I remember going to see Moulin Rouge at the cinema for a friend's birthday. It was torture. And being so loud at the cinema, you can't even close your eyes and think about something else. I should have just walked out but it was her birthday and I didn't want to ruin it.
My husband sat me down to watch the film version of Les Miserable. By the end of it, he was trying to hold back tears and at the death scene, the main character just kept singing and singing and singing so I just shouted at the screen "Just fucking die damnit!"
According to him, I had a face like a well skelped arse while watching it. Luckily my husband has learnt to ask other women to go with him to see these things at the cinema or theatre.
Musicals are never good unless they're animated Disney features. Otherwise, it's just cringey shit.

Congrats Tibs! You've done an amazing job of making a place where we can feel safe in coming to discuss anything and everything. I've learned so much from everyone here and feel like I have friends that actually understand when I need to vent about the crazy religious people I deal with. This is by far the best website I've ever been to.

Gotta disagree. West Side Story and Rent are two of my favorites and they aren't Disney.
