Just look at the Green Revolution; Mousavi ran on a campaign of reform, and when it became clear he could win, they rigged the ballots. When the people called bullshit and protested, the government arrested them and nothing changed.

You are correct when you point out the advantages of many European countries over the USA in quality of life issues for average persons. You oversimplify things, though. While you correctly site the USA as the most powerful military force on the planet, you neglect to mention that:

The USA remains at the forefront of science and technology. Are you aware of Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla and SpaceX? When asked why he migrated to the USA from his native South Africa, he replied, "Great things are done here."

He was right. Great things are still done here more than anywhere else. I don't know how much longer that will remain to be true but as of now, the USA is the premiere economic power on the planet and still provides the most fertile ground for doing, "great things."

I am open to your criticisms because this country is far from perfect but we are still pretty good.

I found the poll to be lacking sufficient options. There are many reasons that Americans might be relatively careless compared to Scandinavian countries. We are far more diverse than Scandinavian countries with a history that includes genocide, slavery, attempted separation of the North and South, Jim Crow, and numerous wars and 'police actions', including the Cold War with the PRC and Soviets. Part of the answer to any question about what's wrong with America is 'history'.
