Huggy. Yes, you can't talk about their behavior after the fact as evidence of anything, but you can certainly use their own words. If one of the victims says they weren't raped, please share.

Yeah, this country needs a crash course, ‘wake up call’ education on sexual assault and abuse; the psychological effects, and the very legitimate psychological explanations for victims’ behaviors that seem so bizarre to those who don’t understand it. If I have to hear one more person say, ‘if she was really assaulted why did she wait so long to report it?’, I’m going to vomit.

Except lately it's been women saying that, so...

Ovaries don’t equate to understanding, Huggy.

Maybe not, but then you're saying that the majority of women have no understanding on issues that affect women.

No, I said exactly what I meant. Some people understand, some don’t. The point you tried to get across by referencing women who said “x” doesn’t do you any favors. Their genitals don’t lend their words any special meaning.

If you wanna put words, or anything, in my mouth I’m gonna need dinner first.

But it's not 'some', and i'm not putting words in your mouth, it's the only logical conclusion.

a majority of one specific group of women voted for a person who admitted to sexually assaulting women, and now just nominated a supreme court justice which may result in roe v wade being overturned.

So either this majority of women had no understanding, or they're getting exactly what they wanted.

Hardly, taking more than a few seconds to think about my word choice would lead you to more than one. I used the term equate specifically, because a person’s sexual organs don’t translate into their understanding of a topic.

Are you suggesting that these two things are mutually exclusive?

I got that part...

But what YOU don't seem to be getting is that this isn't some random topic, it's a topic that involve and affect women. If the MAJORITY of that group feel a certain way about an issue that concerns THEM, who am I to tell them that their organs don't translate into understanding the topic?

Yes.

If you don't have any understanding then you cannot make an informed decision.

Therein lies the difference then, I don’t partake of ad populum. Especially about a nuanced subject where individual experiences are as valid as what could be considered the group consensus.

As for the rest you’re still missing the point. You said;
Quote: Except lately it's been women saying that, so...

As if it means anything in particular. I’m pointing out that the fact that they’re women who have said “x” doesn’t lend them any more bearing than if a man had said it.

Quote:Yes.

If you don't have any understanding then you cannot make an informed decision.

People do make uninformed, reactionary, or politically aligned, decisions though. The sad part is that they do it just as confidently as the people who are informed, damn whatever consequences may come.

I never said women can't be assholes too.

Huggy is committing a genetic fallacy here.
Nay_Sayer: “Nothing is impossible if you dream big enough, or in this case, nothing is impossible if you use a barrel of KY Jelly and a miniature horse.”

Wiser words were never spoken.
