Why Are Atheists so Stupid

And apparently the atheists resolution to this is:    We give the kid the gun, because if it was true, that kids shouldn't be playing with guns, then we wouldn't have to threaten them.

Also, we can't take climate change claims seriously, because they threaten us with the consequences of not doing so.   If it was true, they wouldn't need to back it up with a threat.  

The difference is evidence.

When scientists talk about climate change, they are not making an "obey me or else" arbitrary tribal threat out of selfish interests. What scientists are saying in saying we are causing it is the same as if you were a passenger in a car speeding and are not paying attention to the light that just turned red that you are about to blow through.

God belief is just the opposite, it isn't any real objective morality, it is a super hero story designed to solely make the hero look good. It is hardly objective, completely emotional, and allows the buyer to justify blowing the red light and even running over the pedestrian in the crosswalk whom had the nerve to follow traffic rules.
