"Twelve" in the Quran.
|
OP..what is your response to the existence of other numbers in the Quran like "7, 2, 6, 8, 3, 4, 5" ??
And maybe more ?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duodecimal
" The number twelve, a superior highly composite number, is the smallest number with four non-trivial factors (2, 3, 4, 6), and the smallest to include as factors all four numbers (1 to 4) Historically, units of time in many civilizations are duodecimal. There are twelve signs of the zodiac, twelve months in a year, and the Babylonians had twelve hours in a day ... The importance of 12 has been attributed to the number of lunar cycles in a year, and also to the fact that humans have 12 finger bones (phalanges) on one hand (three on each of four fingers) " Damn that moon! Why have people been looking up at it for so long? Oh, and why do women get their periods kinda synced to it? Those numbers you mention all have importance, but I'm talking about the number of Successors to a founding Messenger like Moses, and with that topic, Quran clarifies it's 12.
So, is this the reason why there are a dozen eggs in the standard carton?
I always wondered why 12 was the chosen number. Why not nine, or fifteen? Now I must ponder the significance of a dozen. FFS, such endless nonsense. RE: "Twelve" in the Quran.

Please explain to me; what made you choose the number "12" specifically. Who said that 12 is a number to be looked forward for? In other words; why not choose another number from the numbers existing in the Quran? 7 ? 4? 8 ? 5....etc (October 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm)MysticKnight Wrote: If Muslims recognized the number "Twelve" and it's emphasis in the Quran - the world would not be in the state it is, but rather, peace and justice, most probably would have long been established. So... Why the fuck didn't your inept god communicate this super, extra-important info much more clearly? He certainly could have foreseen the crap that would follow from Muslims not understanding the importance of the number 12 in the Quran, right? Don't you think he is to blame then for not assuring his message is clear and unambiguous, and how important it is, to all Muslims? Why are ancient tribal gods so fucking horrible at their jobs? You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. It does, it tells me there is a sinister dark magic. @Simon Moon, All and every verse of Quran is clear in the hearts of those who are given knowledge, and if it's approached by reverence and fear of God, it will guide. If people come to play carelessly with the verses and not heeds it's warning and interpret without knowledge, then they are acting according to it's trial that leads to hell, and blindness, where as if they held on to the clear signs and sought to clarify that which was unclear to them through reflecting on what is clear, the clarification would be easy to understand and remember. It's clarified, and it's perfected in the wisdom of understanding the names of the Imams and the order of their names. I will clarify that eventually.
