I wouldn’t be a Christian

My main problem is the deity of the bible is evil. If you put a character like that in any other book, it would be incredibly hard to sell the guy as a good natured deity to a modern audience. Maybe it worked for more primitive cultures, but obviously humanity is trying its best to grow out of that kind of stuff, leaving such things behind.

Wasn't Lex Luther framed as a bad guy in the original Superman movie for wanting to drown coastal California? According to the myths, gawd drowned almost everybody once, and plans on burning billions more. Lex was a pretty good guy on comparison.

I think be in a christer is more than just believing christ was real and the buy-bull is (at least in part) true.

Yeah, I’m not going to be trusting that a raging psychopath creator is going to stick to its word, especially when its word comes via regular-old people. What’s the obsession with thinking it can’t possibly change it’s mind?

I think it’s a good comment that the definition doesn’t mean much anyway. I’d be an anti-Christian, I guess!

It's telling that when there's a promise not to drown the world again, the emphasis is on the "drowned" part, instead of the idea that there's not going to be anymore mass killings. Tribes are killed off in later stories, and in revelations the world is apparently going to be set on fire. The abuse itself doesn't stop. Only the method.

grow up pee pants, that is the core message is about saving one soul.. cant have a serious discussion unless this comes up.

I thought the core message was about loving God and having the opportunity to glorify him for eternity. YMMV.

Aww, give him a break. Must be confusing to worship someone who contradicts himself every other second.  Angel

what makes you think we can worship God eternally without first being saved?

Don't worry jorge is just a little confused as to the nature of what a core principle is. meaning being a core principle it must come first or be central to any other guidelines or principles like eternal worship.. For example one can not worship eternally if one is not first saved.. which means to worship while it may be a principle is not central to the work of Christ here as salvation has to first be established before any other eternal live or activity in said eternal life can happen.

Yeah.  It's no picnic having a president who does that, either.  Dodgy

Can't have a serious discussion about non-existent "souls" to begin with.

Only a fucking asshole believes in souls and I know that you qualify, Drippy.
