Language' s primary purpose is to convey ideas and information. If you are efficiently doing so - you' re doing it right.

The rest is just snobbery.

Yeah, I didn't imply that. Speaking with some intelligence is required if you want to win your court battle. Also, if you constantly heard someone saying "him and me" or "her and me" all the time, you'd start to think they really weren't all that intelligent. I just asked my 16 year old about it and she agreed.

And no - it isn't snobbery to want to be and sound educated.

+1
Well-spoken words and language, whether it's English or another language, are truly amazing. It's what separates us from the other animals.
If the desire to communicate beyond merely "conveying information" makes me a snob, then so be it.

Joods, if she had enough self respect to speak properly, she wouldn't be on Judge Judy in the first place.

@iggy: Not necessarily. If she thought she had a chance to win and  be on tv at the same time, why not?

@becs: I do because I can only watch CNN repeat the same stories so many times.

I had a coworker who appeared on Judge Judy. I watched the episode and Judy Judy called her a liar lol. She was a few sandwiches short of a picnic but nevertheless was pretty proud that she appeared on the show.

Did they compensate her for her time? I know on The People's Court, both litigants are paid money from a fund to appear on the show.

You actually like the show, perhaps?

I'm a legal buff. Her method for how she questions litigants is really unique. I like it.
