Hello, everyone.

Hello, everyone.
I'm an agnostic atheist from the UK. Was raised as a Muslim but was never especially devout. I've always had doubts even from an early age, there were many things in Islam that didn't make sense. I succumbed to those doubts after learning about the story of Buraq and finally accepted that Islam was made up. It was a difficult few months for me, I left Islam but I was still confused, stuck in limbo. There were a few lingering doubts which I couldn't remove. A few months later after reading various books, debates and discussions, I realised that I was an atheist.

As an ex muslim you will be outnumbered by ex christians, but thats cool.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

RE: Hello, everyone.
Welcome. It seems to me that you probably are taking a greater personal risk than most of us former Christians did when we jumped ship. I salute your courage.

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! "

God is not great. But he's not shite either, he's not anything, he doesn't exist.

The concept of God on the other hand, is: 1 Fictional and so should be completely harmless, and 2.: Nevertheless isn't harmless due to the fucking repercussions of certain religious people believing in such a retarded concept.

Welcome

It sounds to me like you let your doubts get the better of you.

As they should. Fuck the superficial solace of faith, we deserve the rationality and ultimate solace of doubt.

No you can't live your life doubting everything just for the sake of it. You have to have faith in something.
