US Virgin Islands
My employer sent me to Saint John in the US Virgin Islands last week.

Here is the view of Cruz Bay from my balcony.

This is where I stayed.

One of my neighbors.

These are the people that financed the trip.

This is why I was here.

This is where I spent a lot of time.

Where I spent most of Thursday afternoon during the only time off I had.

Except for about an hour here snorkeling with some sea turtles.

Is your employer hiring?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Usually for something, but you'd probably have to be a meteorologist to get a job on an island.

Holy shit, the Virgin Islands is a real place?!  I always thought it was a mythical land where prostitutes went to get recycled.

USVI are to visit, not to live. Trust me!

That's the impression I got. Saint Thomas appeared to be a pretty much of a shit hole from the little bit of time I spent there.

I'm sure the last hurricane didn't help. For me it was more the natives attitude to long term outsiders. They had their own little abusive wall.
