Movie Trailer heads up thread.
RE: Movie Trailer heads up thread.
Seems an unlikely pairing.

For the record, while Mel Brooks is starring, co-writing, and producing the film, he isn’t directing; Josh Greenbaum is. A bit disappointing, if I’m honest, since doing so would have made him the oldest director in the history of Hollywood (he’s about two months away from turning 100.)

What’s really disappointing is that Brooks is doing sequels.

Bear in mind he's been teasing sequels since at least 1981.

I posted on this a year or so ago when Brooks first announced. I was skeptical because of all the previous times he hinted at a sequel and his very advanced age. Looks like its a done deal now. I hope they got Tim Russ back to announce that he still can't find shit.

Now I have another incentive for living another year.

What? It's not even called "Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money"?! Then you know it's going to suck because they're taking it too seriously to call it that, and the only reason Spaceballs worked in the first place is because nobody took it seriously; everybody was just goofing around.

Talking about long overdue sequels, there is now a trailer for the movie that nobody saw, which is Practical Magic. I say that nobody saw it because I remember back in the day I tried watching it once on cable and quickly realized there was nothing going on; it was plotless and thus boring. Afterwards, I never heard anyone ever discuss this movie, and it was quickly forgotten. So why do they think anyone is interested in the sequel? Beats me.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

This movie is finally coming out. Warner was going to release it 3 years ago, but then they decided it would be better to just write the whole thing (and pretty much everything else related to Looney Tunes) for tax purposes. Fortunately, unlike the Batgirl movie, they at least kept the film itself intact. And now, we have a trailer.

Not a movie trailer, but anyway...

Looks like the Duffer brothers have made a geriatric Stranger Things.

And the trend of rummaging through the cinematic dustbin continues.

Seriously, there has to be a point at which a sequel should be considered a re-imagining.
