Coming out as genderfluid on this forum

What I find confusing is the lack of skepticism.

Any Christian named "DIE ATHEISIST" (or whatever) saying they're gender fluid is either fucking with you or is confused about more than whether or not to pee standing up.

You might be surprised to learn the OP is an atheist and that words in languages other than English do in fact exist.

I have until this point generally not examined my use of the forum, as it served an important function for someone with chronic depression, it gave me something halfway decent to occupy my time with on a day to day basis, and provides a little structure. Now that I'm actively posting on two forums, I'm more open to considering the wisdom of how I spend my time here and there. Forums are purely social, pretty much. They can inform, but that isn't their main function. I don't see how coming out as gender fluid on one is any big whoop that should provoke such an extreme reaction to it. I regularly post about what music I'm listening to at the time. Who really cares about that? Am I next for the Maketakunai rant about what I do? The objection purpose [*] to someone coming out on a forum as gender fluid serves multiple constructive uses, but I'm not going to go into them. What I have to wonder is why you, Maketakunai, care so much about it at all?

[*] Rereading my post, I realize I misspoke. I was saying that coming out has useful functions, but unintentionally made a statement about objections to it. I may have opinions on that, but that was not what I was trying to express here.

If you're afraid of gender fluidity, that's OK.  People - especially (but not exclusively) conservatives - tend to be afraid of new ideas.  But it may help you to understand that the gender-fluid aren't a threat.  They won't hurt you.

I think he just had an emotion reaction to the name "DIE Atheis..." instead of reading the profile as German "The atheist" and everything else was just assumptions and irrational doubling down. The question is does "Valid point on the name. I still don't give a flying fuck what he/she/it does with their naughty bits." qualify as owning up to being wrong? I would assume yes, but...

I will agree that friends and family are the people the OP should be talking to. I think he's missing the point that people can make friends on forums as well. Also, missing the safety in anonymity tack on the testing the waters first in a supportive forum. Apparently, proving why that's justified because we're all just cats clawing at the eyes of the perceived weakest/different.

@ Jorm - I really don't. Almost all of my posts here have been responses to people who appear to take issue with my first post. I'm kind of following it now just because of all the people who, it turns out, only care about speech and opinions that doesn't upset the status quo here.

I realize a lot of people here believe that there's nothing like a robust debate with folks who only agree with them. I am not among them, which makes me a cunt according to one of the moderators, LOL!
