Things you have discovered

RE: Things you have discovered
It's possible to store up to 843 adult pugs in a ford mustang.

Also, liquid laundry detergent makes for horrible lube.

And it's not legal to host a battle royale to the death in a nursing home.

Yea, actually, considering my mom spent time at a nursing home, believe me, it is a battle to get attention from staff. While not legal to kill staff, it is still a battle.

Wait?

It's illegal?

Has nothing left to chance
A host of holy horrors
To direct our aimless dance
A planet of playthings
We dance on the strings
Of powers we cannot perceive
The stars aren't aligned
Or the gods are malign
Blame is better to give than receive
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will
There are those who think that
They've been dealt a losing hand
The cards were stacked against them
They weren't born in Lotus-Land
All preordained
A prisoner in chains
A victim of venomous fate
Kicked in the face
You can't pray for a place
In heaven's unearthly estate
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will
Each of us
A cell of awareness
Imperfect and incomplete
Genetic blends
With uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt
That's far too fleet
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose free will

Peart was the main lyricist. For me, it's saying choose what's best for you. Don't accept what others say.

Sure, their sound has changed. But musically speaking there isn't a better band. Individually yes, there are better musicians. Hendrix is better than Lifeson. Les Claypool is probably better than Lee. If he is not, Stu Hamm certainly is. Peart is just the best, there isn't anyone better. As a group though, they are just perfect.

Peart without a doubt is the top of the drummer field.

But again, even outside of RUSH, I look back at the rock I got into in the 80s, and it really was mostly escapism, and smacked of suburban angst.

Kiss I didn't get into, but please, "I want to rock and roll all night, and party every day".  Can anyone say Brett?

John Cougar, "Little ditty about Jack and Diane"....... <------ So much a song about not being able to pay your bills, surviving war, spousal abuse" NOT..... But about two kids falling in love. Mind you, take that with a grain of salt me being an ABBA fan.

But at the risk of blaspheming Hendrix, he was a pioneer, nobody should question that. But I love Vernon Reid of Living Color far more. He has blazing fast speed I had not heard in my life.

And John Melloncamp is a really good dude. I rode with him once, back in the late 80's between Goshen and Mishawaka Indiana bar hopping.... I didn't realize who he was at the time.. Just a fun guy, that everybody seemed to know.....

There are those that unquestionably manipulate the fretboard better than Hendrix. Satrani, Vai, Malmsteen. And without a doubt, Buckethead. None of them however can match his monumental imagination, or his considerable innovation. Quite simply put, there is guitar work before the emergence of Hendrix, and there is guitar work after.

I think it was John Entwistle who said it best, (keep in mind I am paraphrasing) "Hendrix is not a great guitar player. Jeff Beck is a great guitar player. Clapton is a great guitar player. Hendrix, is a force of nature."

Has anyone else played their guitar with their teeth? Fucking heroin. I'd like to know what Jimmy would have accomplished without it. Or Janice, for that matter. Dodgy

It may be possible to store 843 pugs in a Ford Mustangs, but it is impossible to have two male Jack Russells in one large dog park.  They're like male Beta fish in a measuring cup.

On a related note, never wear a snap up the front shirt to the dog park....

Actual:

You can make even italians drink decaf without them noticing.

Maybe they just assume we have horrible coffee.

When faced with two identical water jugs at a swing dance, most millenials will fall for the "the one on the left is decaf."
