Do you have any paranormal experineces?
#21
RE: Do you have any paranormal experineces?
I had two experiences in my childhood home between the ages of 13 and 16. Both incidents involved an inanimate object flying across the room. The first incident happened in the living room while I was in my bedroom, so I didn’t see it (but I heard it), and it upset the family dog terribly. I witnessed the second incident with my own eyes. I’m sure there is a scientific explanation for the phenomena, but hell if I can fathom what it might have been. Any thoughts from our physics-educated gang?

That is definitely weird! I don't think I have an explanation, but it's definitely strange. Were you scared when these things happened or did it come with any feeling of "someone being there" or a "presence?"
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

No, nothing like that while it was happening.  More like head-scratching incredulity.  It creeps my out now in hindsight when I think back on it though.

And nothing like that has ever happened since then? I suppose I'd have to know more about what fell/how it fell to even begin a guess.

Well, the first incident involved a cold air register that (presumably) flew out of our livingroom floor.  I heard the crash and found it, upside down, several feet away from duct hole in the floor. I replaced it, and afterward, our family dog (who had been sleeping out there), began to cry and scratch at my parents’ bedroom door until they let him in.

The second incident is kind of a two-parter (shut up @SteelCurtain; I hate you so much).

We had exercise equipment in our attic that I used to occasionally use. We also had a bunch of crap left over from my older brothers who used to live at the house. Among other things were their sports trophies from HS. One such trophy is broken, and the little man just sits precariously on top of the base. One night, while I was taking a water break and looking at the trophies, the little man fell off. I thought it slightly strange, but not all that strange. It’s a creaky, old, unlevel house. Not a stretch at all. Several months later, I was in the attic doing the exact same thing: taking a break and staring at the little trophy man; remembering the mildly odd time that it fell off. And, at that exact moment the damn thing flew off the base half way across the room, bounced twice several feet in the air, rolled and landed at my toe. Like, touching the toe of my sneaker.

Wow that gives me goosebumps to read. Maybe you were being haunted Tongue

Have you ever come up with an explanation for any of this or just chalked to up to some weird thing you can't explain?

It still gives me goosebumps! I have no explanation, but I must assume there IS a perfectly natural, scientific explanation.  Whatever the explanation, I’ll probably never know what it is. If I make that leap to agency, then I’d be conceding a bunch of assumptions that are simply irrational and unevidenced.
