Home Elevator

Eitherway I hope you're getting around easier.

Stairlifts were out because you can't use them to carry laundry or grocery bags. The Pneumatic elevator I chose was just right because it fit the existing stairways with minimum alterations to the building and it has a carrying capacity of 450 lbs. I can now move easily from the cellar to the basement, carrying all sorts of stuff. If not for this innovation, I would probably be planning to sell my home and move into an assisted living complex.

A big order arrived from Amazon today and I had to go down to the post office to pick up the box. It was heavy, but the post office manager loaded it into my truck for me. When I got home, I had to bring it into the cellar with my hand truck. It fit into my elevator with only about an inch to spare. I then went around to the front porch where I could enter the main floor by climbing only four stairs. I activated the elevator and slid the box into my den to open it. I never thought I'd be using my lift as a freight elevator, but there you go.  Great

An elevator in your home would be epic.

Since my lifting limit has diminished to 20 pounds I've kept one of these in the Mazda.

Hi, Deidre! Thank you for your support. I don't know if "epic" is the right word, but my elevator has made my life so much easier and I don't have to give up my house on account of stairs.  Great

I've probably spent about $1,000 over the past decade, trying to find a pair of comfortable, durable shoes for my deformed, arthritic feet. I recently ordered a pair of Skechers slip-on loafers from Amazon and they turned out to be the best shoes I've worn in years. I couldn't wait to try them out on a grocery shopping trip, so I drove to the supermarket today. My feet still felt good after nearly an hour of walking about on the hard floors of the store. When I got home, I loaded all my purchases into my new grocery cart and wheeled them right up to my home elevator in one go. My kitty "supervised" while I took everything up to the kitchen. Life is good!  Tiny Tiger

I finally found a housekeeper to help with the housecleaning, which I'm finding increasingly difficult to do on account of my arthritis. She was here yesterday to begin cleaning up the kitchen. She was fascinated with my home elevator and never saw one in a private residence before. It was a boon to her because she has trouble climbing stairs.

There's never been a good time period for us cripples - but it's a whole lot better than it used to be....

I just worry that I come from a line of people known for living into their late 80's. The thought scares me. Lalala
