It's about your perception of how I communicate what I believe. Also, neither of you really answered the question. I'll take you opinions because I didn't make this a serious thread for a reason. Let me rephrase:
If you had to list things you think you know about me that I've expressed here, would there be more things I am for or more things I am against? It's a simple binary answer, but you can expound if you would like.
Good.
I am going to be bluntly honest.
Humans, no matter their religions, worldwide, DO base their decisions on those beliefs. The problem with doing that is when those sects base their politics on those beliefs.
If we were talking about something outside religion, say sports, or a movie, or a book, or band or food, I am sure we could run into something we both like.
But the problem with religion, is far too often it divides humans politically. It isn't that one can get rid of any religion by force, you cant. But it is still a problem in our species in the fact it distracts humanity from the fact we are not a separate species,
And as far as being "for" something. You need to consider that one can be for something and dead wrong at the same time. The ancient Egyptians were successful for 3,000 years. But none of that success made Ra, Osiris, Horus or Isis real.
What drives a Christian or Muslim or Jew or Hindu or Buddhist to do what they do, and support whom they support is the same. That grouping is mainly done because it is handed down to the respective youth long before that youth can formulate adult critical thinking skills. And respectively, in turn those individual sects, compete for the attention of the governments that rule over them. That causes divisions, even under the same umbrella label.
It is why you cant get a Tibet Buddhist to agree with a Chinese Buddhist whom wont agree politically with a Japanese Buddhist. It is why Catholics and Protestants in Ireland have had a history of divisions. It is why you cant get an Obama voting Baptist to agree politically with a Trump voting Baptist. And why Sunnis and Shiites also don't get along.
You can list what you are for, or against. Only after that can I comment on your position.
So again, "IT DEPENDS" on the individual claim on your part, what you claim you are for, and also the individual claim of what you are against.
I was for my late mother, always, but I am against the idea that someone needs to believe in a super natural cognition to be the decent human she was.

@ wyzas Both or Either, the simplest way to put it(as my pastor did the past week) is Christians should be good paper delivery boys. As a side note, they shouldn't really differ from typical human best practices, but some people ge really defensive and emotional on certain subjects.
@ Brian37 that was a lot of soap boxing. Based on your brief time knowing me, without be stating a list of things, would you say quantitatively....
K how about this. If I had you list out the top 20 things your late mother felt were important based on what she spoke with you about would there be more things that she was for or more things she was against?
That is a personal example of the question for you. I'm just asking it about your perceptions of me. I'm not saying that the validity of the beliefs aren't important in other contexts. I'm not saying we will agree or trying to find common ground. I think you're reading it like I'm asking are you for or against me or my beliefs.. which I am not. I hope this clears that up.

-and there's the rub. If you want to build the brand you have to stay on message. The message is far from lucid or cogent, and very far from "human best practices".
It's a bit like an mlm in it's growth, in that regard - the people who do the best work from the point of view of the mlm are the people who think that they really are presenting others with an opportunity. Wondering how you might improve your outreach reduces to wondering how you might be able to stay on message over objections.

Then I'm not sure why atheists should be assisting you in this endeavor.

The people who haven't signed onto the mlm are the target consumer. As such our input is worth more than the input of some other bath salt peddler.
Poaching other christians is a zero sum game and doesn't grow the brand,it only changes the ratio of distributors under a given merchant at a specific time.

I'd assume because atheist are generally people and can be compassionate, and that they don't really care what Christians unless it affects them.
Now I can see a shit ton of reasons for anti-thesits would not want to assist. But I've already gotten one anti-theist to contribute. I'm just trying to stem hatred where I can in my own personal social circle. Feel free not to contribute, it's just a poll for an opinion.

I doubt that honing your sales pitch or persona will affect whatever level of hatred there is in your social circle.

I'm not anti-theist, but trying to covert by promotion, rather than attraction, has never set well with me.

I personally am not anti theist, as far as human rights. But I am anti theist as in "against bad logic."
Just like it would bother me if I had a family or friend or co worker who went around claiming every day, "Golfer Phil Mickelson beat the New England Patriots in the NHL Stanley Cup." I certainly wont go on a killing spree over such an absurd claim, but it would bother me enough to want to correct the person making the claim.
I'll always have the desire to protect non violent individuals as far as human rights. But even given that, I still have a problem with the idea that the claims of antiquity still apply in today's modern world other than being an arbitrary social norm older generations have passed down.
That was then, this is now.
