Where I used to work, one of the guys had previously worked at an oil refinery. One of the first things that they did during the interview of a new prospect was to take them for a tour. Part of that was to go out on a catwalk between two cracking towers, 20 stories up. If the interviewing party had a problem with heights, they knew right away they weren't going to work out. When I worked at Cape Canaveral, I was required to go out to the launch complex and go to the top level (about 200 feet AGL) for part of the job. My shoulder was rubbing whatever equipment was on the catwalk opposite the hand rail. I swear that you could see Cuba on a clear day.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

People like that are often thought of as having something extra, bravery.
I see them as missing something, common sense. |
