Biden finally jumps in....
I will certainly vote for whatever dem wins our nomination. But it is still in the back of my mind that Biden might have waited too long to jump in.

I like most of our field including Biden. It is still early so we shall see.

Biden is a creeper.

...and with that, the party completes the task of making itself as unappealing as possible to the trump voters they hamstring themselves pursuing and the energy of the base.

Good luck in 2020 yall, since you've given up on living in a country with rule of law, and hope that a popularity contest between three geriatrics will somehow right the ship, instead.

I'm sorry guys. But I am tired of what Obama said himself this week of DEMS being divided as the needless "Circular firing squad".

Can we stop assuming this early in what is going to happen? Can the left simply unite to get rid of the real threat in the White House?

Does anyone sane want 4 more years of the orange jackass bully?

I had hoped that a more uh..suitable contender would've presented him/herself by now, but no such luck.
Look like it's gonna come down to ole Joe after all.

Lets not speculate this early.

Nobody when Obama announced thought he'd rise, get the nomination, much less be elected twice. But unfortunately, the same can be said for the orange asshole.

It is too early to say that Biden, Bernie, Buttigeig, Harris, Warren will get the nomination. It is simply too early.

All I want right now at this point is for the left to stop bickering, let the process play out, and back whomever we nominate.

The alternative is unthinkable.

Which Democrat in their right mind wants to appeal to the average Trump voter?  Democrats want to appeal to the working class voters they lost.

For me, a moderate Democrat, it's quite sufficient that most of all 21 Democratic candidates are better choices than Trump.

Can we not equate swing voters and centrist republicans as being on the same side as the bigoted snack patriot right.

Look, one problem dems have had for decades is that #1, we have not been good in voting in local or state elections in off years. #2 even in national and presidential elections, we rely too much on our regular urban and suburban haunts.

Voting like chess, cannot be all defense, at some point, just like chess, you have to expand. Nobody is or should expect anyone to appeal to right wing bigots. But there still are moderates in swing and red states, as well as liberals in red states.

My best friend Hillbilly Atheist, the guy I am meeting in Brisbane in June, grew up in rural Oklahoma, a state FYI that Elizabeth Warren grew up in. He is rural, he was raised by conservative parents, but did not end up a fundie. Poor rural and middle class rust belt Americans are finding a hard time making ends meet. I should be argued that minorities are hurt worse by the economy and justice system, I can agree with that. But we cannot simply stick to old haunts as  far as zip codes.

The GOP loves the divisions between whites and blacks, between urban, suburban and rural. That is how they have won for decades.

Oh, I do so love it when you tell me exactly what to think and do, Brian.
It's so charming. Wink

It'll come down to Bernie and Biden, with Biden ultimately being able to secure more corners of the Democratic electorate, I believe.
Btw, I am willing to vote for someone I'm not terribly impressed with, but IMO there are a couple of legit train wrecks in the Democratic line-up. So I make no promises to go out of my way to back just anyone.

It is what it is.

Anyone with an ounce of sense in their head is and will appeal to right wing bigots, Brian.  The dem who can step right up to the line without hemorrhaging base voters will carry the states that the party wants to contest.

That's why it's a Bernie/Biden-a-palooza. Those guys aren't gay, black, or female. Bernie swings an anti-sjw bat, and Biden just skated on creeping, lol. That's a +1 for any rightwing bigot lovingly euphemized as "the white working class voters dems lost".

Meanwhile, the dem establishment seems content to let the current criminal admin run out the clock, thinking they'll be able to hang that over the GOPs neck come 2020....but...that's not exactly how that will play out in a specific subset of voters minds.....lol....
