RE: Ecology topic
Yeah, they're going to be everywhere eventually. Right now, though, they're too expensive...they're fail when it's hot, when it's cold, on inclines, their range is insufficient, and the charging process is labor intensive. Further, manufacturers are not delivering the product that they've promised city managers - with safety defects and lower (even than advertised) range. These are the things that the industry will have to smooth out.

Until then, the electric buses with the most success will be (and have been) trolley buses, which require infrastructure largely absent in the US. There are plans to change that, ofc. The idea being that with battery density being what it is today, there's no need to electrify every route. The trolley buses could operate off a main trunk, leaving and returning to the electrified portion of a common route while spurring into pickups.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

In Lisbon, we have those. the grid is in downtown, the old part. The tourists love them and the pickpockets even more. I know you don't understand Portuguese but watch those old trolleys.

Back in St. Petersburg they rolled out a new bus fleet years ago all designed to look like trolleys, and they have a few electrics in the fleet now. Good location for them with a small downtown waterfront.

Things are rolling gym lockers, though.....the ac uses the majority of the battery so they don't exactly pump in the bought air. Bunch of oily tourists in banana hammocks huddled together under a cloud of rancid vanilla and sex.
