I wonder if they plan to ban coat hangers.

There was a piece in the New York Times over ten years ago explaining exactly what things were like Pre-Roe, abortion-wise. This includes not only coat-hangers, but " darning needles, crochet hooks, cut-glass salt shakers, soda bottles, sometimes intact, sometimes with the top broken off."

At one point, he describes something so disturbing I'll leave it under hide:

If you were brave enough to show that content, remember: this is the world the Pro-Lifers will get if they have their way; a woman whose illegal abortion was so badly botched she got disemboweled.

His conclusion:

Quote:It is important to remember that Roe v. Wade did not mean that abortions could be performed. They have always been done, dating from ancient Greek days.

What Roe said was that ending a pregnancy could be carried out by medical personnel, in a medically accepted setting, thus conferring on women, finally, the full rights of first-class citizens — and freeing their doctors to treat them as such.

And as a result, having an abortion is somewhere in the ballpark of ten times less likely to kill a woman than giving birth (which is still pretty negligible), and it's all because we have people who know what they're doing in charge.

The problem is that these individuals don't actually care if a woman dies in a botched abortion. They will shrug and say "serves her right".

These "people" aren't pro-life. They're pro birth. And they don't give a fuck about the baby or the parents once it's been born, so long that it IS born.
Dying to live, living to die.

I gave this kudos for the deep satire. This is truly horrific, and I'm sure that is how you meant it. These guys are disgusting.

So you are lying to make your argument black and white.  No one can argue with someone who is willing to lie to win.

Why do so many Christians think it's okay to lie to win arguments?

I did not lie.  I don't mind saying the fetus instead of the word baby.  My points stand as I stated though.

You are so fucking sanctimonious.

I am not trying to show a moral superiority.  I believe God sets the moral standards which I try but fail to live by.  Thank God he sent His Son to pay the punishment for our sins.

They will deny this until they are blue in the face while claiming "save the babies!", but it's fucking bullshit. They are angry, small-minded people and often warped by religion. It's a lost cause. If they truly, TRULY cared about the lives of children, they would be raising holy hell to stop school shootings, and Sandy Hook should have been the turning point.

Thankfully, many states are putting protections in place if Roe/Wade does fall. My state of Massachusetts is one (the first to do so, actually), and many others are falling suit. What could happen in the more liberal states is health insurance providers could find loopholes to stop covering reproductive services or birth control. Thus abortions and other reproductive care could get very expensive. And of course, this doesn't help the poor women who get pregnant in the states that have outlawed abortion and birth control.

With all of that said, please consider making a donation to NARAL or Planned Parenthood. They really need our help.

Some think it is better for me to post outside the DNA thread.  I guess it is just a matter of opinion.

Dear CDFSTER,

What is truly sickness you sanctimonious twatwaffle, is when scum sucking bottom feeders cry how abortion is murder, but always seem to forget that flood they wiped out life on the entire planet because their creator had a temper tantrum!

You are really worth less than the shit I took at birth!

Too bad it isn't murder nor is it a baby and it's better then forced reproduction which is essentially rape .

It's literally 'forced labor'.
