Choosing who you are
RE: Choosing who you are
One can pretend to be someone else, but it doesn't last long, if that's what you mean Sama.

Is that always and absolutely the case?

I am not a Sith. I never had to deal with gender identity, but I had to deal with sexual insecurity. All those "your gay" remarks because I was shy early on.

For all that matters, I always loved my dick. My feet are horribly big and ugly tough.

It's impossible to make a conscious decision to change who you are?

Over time, we grow and learn - isn't that, in effect, changing who you are?

Well we can tell for a start that you're not arguing anything backed up by science
It depends on the context we are speaking about.
In a racial context; there is a huge difference between white people and black people.
If the context is biology; then there are none.
If the context is cultural; then both races lived on different continents.
We are discussing gender; and gender-wise men are not women.
If the context is about "human rights" on the other hand then:
-White people = black people
-Males = females = transexuals = ...whatever gender is there.

We should never lose the compass of the context; Mathilda. It is what matters in cases like this.

Why are people always confusing "the rights of LGBT people to exist and practice what they see fit", with "bigotry, the alienation and oppression against LGBT?"
A transexual can -and has the right to exist and do whatever to their body as they see fit-, but forcing me to betray my eyes and  call a penis a "vagina" or call a cell mutation "normal and healthy" is -if you think about it- the enforcing of somebody's vision on me by force.
It all depends on the context. And the context of the OP is obvious.

Yes. There are people who like the idea of sexual pleasure the way transexuals feel it; the term used is "tranny porn"" or "femboy porn", there are also "sissyfying hypnos" on porn sites that claim they can make men turn into women; and a huge number of people watch them.

I was a member on porn sites for a long time, and met men who enjoyed "shemale/ladyboy" sex like me, some wanted a sex change without genitalia mutilation because it made them feel "horny".

I never spoke to transgenders face to face, yes, and all my idea is formed from watching "transexual men" doing porn or recording themselves doing sexual things.

Barring the too much porn corollary, a person is much more than sex. I swear any transgender possibly can be much more than you think of them.

I have worn out all my sexual possibilities and insecurities. Its called being married. Without the hocum.

More and more people these days think so.

Some people think that the surgery isn' t even necessary - but simply living as a woman makes a person female - despite having male genitalia.

....

IF something as quantifiable as genitalia isn't an indication of the identification of sex - how can something as ambiguous as skin coloration be an identifier of race?

Shouldn't a person have the right to self identify what race they belong to?

And those of you - who this question angers (there will be several) - explain rationally why there is a difference.

Science assigns gender moron not personal want. Science/biology identifies male and female sex organs and assigns gender based on which of the two organs a specimen has.

Like wise science or again biology assigns race based on skin color.

You douche bags have to pick a side either you are in with science penny and pound or you are in the want/faith business

I agree LP; they are more than sex indeed

Many people in the porn industry used transexuals to gain $$. Seeing through that fragile context of "taking advantage of trans people to gain money through picturing them in a sexual way" is quite pressing

So if you notice that transwomen look like men then they are men, but if they look like women then they are women?

Or is it that you can see their chromosomes?
